"The Kid Table"

Thanksgiving 2008

Stuffed Hubby

My precious baby girl

Thanksgiving was great! We were up at 8:30am, Emme and I got the turkey in the oven and the stuffing prepared. Then Mimi and Pops arrived...Emme was so excited to see Mimi she jumped up and down and screeched! Too cute. I love it when she recognizes and gets excited about seeing Mimi and Pops.

It was so fun having all the family here (except Bridget's family), and all the food turned out perfect (except the pies). The lunch was fabulous, but my pies were a mess. I made a cheesecake that became the joke of the day. It was all bumpy, and zit like! My buttermilk pie was like water. I think I am in need of a new buttermilk pie recipe. The last couple of times I have made it according to the directions it is pretty watery in the middle. At least everyone else brought a pie!

It was also a very special day because David's brother, Daniel, was with us for his first time. He has not exactly been around too much in the last 10 years. I think he enjoyed himself and the family.
After lunch, we all retired to the living room and I retired to the bedroom. I got a well deserved nap. It was marvelous. Then we all got up and went for round two.
I am so thankful for my wonderful and very close family. There is nothing better than my sisters and my growing relationship with my mother.
Happy T-day!

Ready for T-Day

I am so ready for Tday. It is going to be great. I am hosting this year, with a slightly smaller group than usual. My Mom and Dad are coming in on Thursday morning and then just my sister, Holly's family, J.D, my little Bro, and my bro-in-law, Dan. The house is clean, the tables are decorated, and the turkey is still thawing (oops), hopefully it will be ready for the oven in the morning!
It was so fun making a kids table. We pulled Emme's table from her playroom into the dining room. Emme and I got Fall fabric for the table cloth and Emme decorated placemats for her very best friends and cousins, Heidi and Hannah. The girls even get a candle on their table.
I have to confess...I snuck a piece of cheesecake already!!! It looked way funny, so I decided I should test it to make sure it was not poisonous! Hahaha!
Something else exciting going on is, my brother has been out with a girl twice in one day and is still with her. If you don't know, this is a big deal as his heart was broken a year ago when his Fiance cheated on him! Ugh! It hurt him bad as you can imagine. Plus he is a sensative guy, as you can expect growing up in a house with all girls. Anyways, he has recently, as in this week, kicked his ex to the curb and told her he no longer wants contact with her. This is big because he still had hope and she has been dating etc. but still calling him and texting with him daily. So Monday, we celebrated his independence. We are praying he does not resort back to talking to her again as we know he finds comfort and routine with her since they were together since high school. Keep praying he stays interested in other girls. The girl he is with tonight may not be girlfriend material, but at least he can keep his time filled. (not saying this girl isn't good, I actually think she is good, but maybe not together!)
David, my hubby, has had 2 huge fires today! I just talked to him and he is exhausted and his hands are killing him. It is so scary to see your hubby on the news at a huge explosive fire, but when he calls it is such relief. Hopefully he is able to get some rest tonight so he can help out in the morning with food prep and Emme!
Lunch is at 12 and then he can veg infront of football. I will skip the football and dig into the Christmas decor. Yeah, it can finally go up!
Happy Thanksgiving to all...be thankful for everything and everyone you have, there are some people out there that are not as luck as you. Count your blessings!

"Booga Mommy"

Today I went to get E out of her bed after her nap...she was in her shades in her window. We were talking and she gets up stands back in her window and points to a green smear on the window seal and says "Booga Mommy". She had wiped boogers in her window. Too funny!! Gotta love everything they do, even if it is having a booger collection!!! (MKA, If you read this, this blog is dedicated to you!!!!!)

Sick

Well, E is sick again. Poor punkin can't stop coughing! Her nose is running, her eyes are miserable lookng and she coughs constantly.
We were up all night last night because the meidcine I gave her did not cause drowsiness, but it caused her to be more than alert. She was in bed with me and had to be right on top of me or her feet had to be in my face or her hand had to touch me in some way. When she wasn't playing with the alarm clock, she was dozing off or asking me " Momma, I watcha da TB?" That is Momma, I watch the TV? Too cute, but I sure am tired. She was ready for her "Oatmilk" (oatmeal) this moring after working so hard overnight.
After such a tough night, I just knew she would be ready for her afternoon nap early, so I put her down at 12pm. Yeah, she never went to sleep....I left her in there for 3 hours. When her crying got real, I went in there to rock her and calm her down, I was stroking her face and hair, and then when I quit, she stroked my cheek and hair. It was too sweet. I will forever remember that moment. I of course broke out in a cry so thankful for my precious baby.
This week has been a hard one....Emme has been testing me a ton, and I have been at witts end with her since I have been a single mom lately. Daddy has been working lots doing xmas lights and winter landscape, as well as, his regular Fireman job.
Say some prayers for tonight that we sleep soundly in our OWN beds.

My little smarty.

Today at Home Depot, we let Emme carry around an Elmo stocking that played music. She loved it, she danced, and was very excited. When is it was time to go, we took t from her and she got pretty upset. When David was carrying Emme to the car she cried "Elmo money". She knew she needed money to buy the Elmo. Money makes the world go round!
I wouldn't be surprised if Daddy brings Elmo home for his Princess!!

My Christmas List

All I want for Christmas and my Birthday!!! Donations accepted!!!!!!!!!! It's only $750! Hahahahaha. I only need $749 more! LOL!!!

Too Long...lets catch up!

Well, It has been too long....
We have been busy, but not too busy to post, just plain lazy.
I have been so excited about the holidays, I can't wait! We are planning the menu for Thanksgiving at my parents house. Yummy! I have been doing lots of Christmas shopping, which is my favorite. I love to buy for myself, but I really love to buy for other people too. I get nervous that maybe I did not spend enough or maybe they won't like it. I always try to get somebody something they want and if I don't hear them say something, I will get them something I want. I always want lots!!!
This year, I am stumped on what to get Miss E. She just had a Birthday 2 months ago and really loaded up, plus she never plays with toys except babies, and she has plenty of those. Any suggestions? I have lots of odds and ends for her, but not the one big great thing.
Here are some pictures of my little family when we went to spend a couple of days with Mimi and Pops. We always have a great time there. We are outside constantly playing. By the time we come in, it is time for bed. E sleeps til past 9am. She naps forever too. We love to be out there and E can just run wild outside between my parents house and my grandparents house. She loves to go over to GG and Papa's house because she knows right where GG keeps the cookies!
