First Day of School

Today Emme went to school. She had a great time in her class. Her teachers are so fun and I know she will enjoy them this year.
I too went to school. I am teaching Pre K at the same church were Emme goes to MDO. We had a good first day. It will be fun, cause I can do all those projects I have always wanted to do and teach.

Fun Friday Night

I think I might still be the funnest Aunt even after having my own kids.
Tonight Emme and I had the pleasure of "Big Kid Sitting" Heidi and Hannah. We started off our fun evening by picking up a pizza and having a picnic in the front yard with Sunkist Orange Drink. (that is a biggie, cuz they don't get that kind of delicious drink at home) After we ate, the girls took turns riding in the wagon up and down my street. After they were hot and sweaty, we jumped in the car with a crisp $1 bill each and headed to CVS to pick out a special dessert. Of course, they partook in the usually kid treat of Skittles and Starburst. Even Emme got a dollar and paid the clerk when she picked hers. (for those of you who worry if emme had an entire bag of Skittle, no way)
Heidi and Hannah chose to wait until later to indulge in the delight, but Emme tore right in. As soon as we reached home, the girlies hopped into a bath to get squeaky clean. They then participated in a game of puppy with the dog leash. I have never seen Emme laugh so hard as she did when Heidi and Hannah were her puppy on a leash and barked. Sadly, all good things have to come to an end and Miss E had to get to bed.
After the "baby" was tucked in, the "Big Girls" snuck off for a little High School Musical and our delicious desserts. Within about 30 minutes of the movie, both girls were sound asleep together. See the great pics below.
I love being the "Fun" Aunt!

Oh The Drama

Today my sister, and Emme's Aunt Holly dropped by...Emme ran to her immediately and loved on her for a bit, but then...Aunt Holly (or Mommy as Emme calls her) had to leave. See pics of Emme below when Aunt Holly had to leave her.

So sad, she finally got better when we told her that Holly would bring Heidi over in just a minute. It was a bit longer than a minute and Emme waited and thought she had heard Heidi and got very excited, but it was not her. In the end, Heidi and Hannah came over to be with Emme. And they lived happily ever after!!

MINE

Wow, MINE... If I never hear that again, it will be too soon. Emme who will be 2 next month won't quit with the MINE and a fit. She had Heidi and Hannah over this morning for a couple of hours and said mine and threw a million fits. She is an only child so far and is looking like she may remain so. What do I do so that she does not become a Spoiled BRAT. Spoiled is okay, but not the brat part. I discipline and try to stay right on it, but she continues. What am I doing wrong, or is just her age that is causing this stage? I pray for a sweet, precious, baby with fabulous manners, and that she is easy to love and be with!
After the hours of MINE, we headed outside for a walk to the park to play and feed the ducks. Not only did we feed the ducks, but we fed the turtles, the gigantic catfish, and the minnows. Emme thought the ducks were great. She bocked at them like a chicken. Anything with a beak is a chicken of course. We also got to see lots of dogs through the fences as we walked. It is so fun and entertaining to watch her get a kick out of hearing a dog bark, or a ball on the ground in someones yard. Oh to be a 2 year old and think the simplest things are so wonderful. We are now home and Emme has a full peanut buttery belly and is fast asleep.
I love this time of day, now I can get caught up and plan for the second half of the day fun activities. Planning activities reminds me I can't wait for early fall. It reminds me of all the holidays that will soon be upon us and the weather gets so wonderful, we can actually go outside to play more with out soaking our clothes in sweat. Yeah, come on Fall.

We are still here.

I have been a bad blogger! I felt like we have been busy, but thinking back to my last blog, we really haven't been. I have just been super lazy. Huh, I am in such a slump right now. I feel like I am just living day to day without much to look forward to. Don't take this the wrong way, I am not like suicidal, I am just like "what are we doing?" It is probably a feeling of not having a job to go to and my baby is now so much more self sufficient and doesn't need me constantly, so I now have a spare minute or two.
Hmmm, I guess I will begin to think about the holidays that I cannot wait for!
What we have been doing.....
Last week, I was called by my previous boss with the property company I worked for and was asked to redecorate an apartment leasing office, clubroom, and model. Let me tell you, I love to spend someone else's money when I go shopping. It was so fun to have money in hand and decorate using modern furniture and colors I won't do in my house because they are not my style, but are still fun and look great and new. I would love to put this into play and this be a business I can do pemanently, like staging houses on the market. Fun, Fun!
Other than that, Emme was sick for a couple of days, so we hung out at home and played in her new Playroom.
Emme recently scored a playroom. She calls if a "wayroo". It is so cute to hear her say it and run to it and get so excited.
I cannot beleive how much more she talks everyday. Today she added "bracelet" to her vocabulary. She is all girl and super sassy with all her jewlery and purse on at all times.
It is quite amazing how a little girl has these inate inhibitions to be a "mommy". Emme love babies and always holds her baby and rocks her. She throws her baby over the side rails of her bed and then has me cover her baby up. It is precious that she has done all this on her own. It is incredible we were wired this way to be mommies.
Okay, I am going to get with it and blog everday for a week. I want this blog to be a diary of our lives that Emme will have for the rest of her life. This such a fun way to keep up with our lives and Emme can one day read what we did on a Wednesday afternoon when she is 25 yrs old!
Oh yeah, school starts next Tuesday. Yeah, Emme can go to school and learn that everything is not "MINE"! She is such an only child. We gotta work on this!
Fancarella in her stilettos. She got all dressed up for church!

Roller Girl

Lets Roll

Uh, look at that Booty!

Rest time.

We had such a fun day today...
We went Roller Skating!
Emme had a fabulous time skating with her cousins, Heidi and Hannah. It was Emme's first time to skate. Let me tell you about precious. The little skates were tiny tan suede and they velcroed. Of course the wheels were tight so she could walk, but she still had to keep balance and the front wheels would still spin easily, but she surprisingly did very well for a 22 month old who has been walking for less than a year.
Once she got the skates on I let her test them out and she fell a couple of times but thought she was hot stuff because her older cousins had on the same thing. She grabbed her walker (see pic) and took off to the music. When a fast upbeat song came on, she had to let go and put her hands in the air and bounce to the beat. She is a big time dancerella.
We had a great time at the Texas Skatium! I am somewhat computer stupid, so I cannot figure out how to put my video on the blog. But just think how cute she is in the pics only a 1k more adorable!!

Back-up a few days.

Friday before we left for my parents, Emme and I met a couple of my girlfriends for lunch at PF Changs and a much needed catch-up session. It was so much fun getting to see all the girls and find out what is happening in their very busy lives. It is absolutley crazy to see these girls I grew up with and played house and babies with to now when they are married and are really Mommys. I am sure these are the friends I will always keep up with. I may not see or talk to every month, but I will always keep in touch. They are neat and now very versatile clan.
The Gang back together for lunch.

9:30 am towards the end of the week. We had to wake her up.

Finally, we return...Emme and I have been at my parents since last Saturday. We had a fabulous time with my parents and grandparents. Emme completely wore herself out everyday and slept very good at night. She of course got to stay up super late thanks to Mimi. We swam in Mimi's new hot tub to cool off, Emme gardened, bird watched, swang, picked figs off GG's (her Great Grandmother) tree, went on walks, strolled thru Canton Trade Days, and best of all got lots of cookies from her G-Pa (her Great Grandfather).

She learned two new words over the week: Pizza and Cookie pronounced "Tookie". Mimi of course taught her both of those words. She was so cute, she walked into the kitchen and up to Mimi and asked for Pizza! Out of the blue. She is a funny girl, and her mind goes ninety to nothin constantly. There are so many fun things to do outside at my parents so Emme really thrived this last week. Plus she was the cented of attention to all the grown ups.
Thanks Mimi and Pops (Bots is how Emme pronounces).
