Summertime!!

Well, it has officially has begun....
Today was the last day of school for me and Ms. Emme. We had a fabulous time at our end of the year field day. Bounce house, face paint, sidewalk chalk, painting, and Pizza Party!!
This year was such a fun year for E. She grew so much and started to talk in full whole sentences. Which by the way, she never shuts up!!! (gotta love it) Emme had 2 fabulous teachers that showered her with so much love. Thanks Ms. Kim and Ms. Bottom ( Autumn)!
I had a new experience this school year too as the Pre-k teacher for Northplace Church. I never thought I could have the patience or the love it takes to be a teacher, but I pulled thru and made it. I was even sad today to say goodbye. It was a great experience, and made some great new friends to boot. Can't wait to keep in touch with them and let our kids play and grow together.
Well, we kicked off our summer with a nap, working in our veggie garden, and a bike ride to Aunt Holly's house. Tomorrow, Daddy is off to play with us. Picnic? Zoo? Who knows what all we have in store for Miss Emme this summer!

"Mommy I can't like Underwear"

The other day when we had such awful thunderstorms, it woke Emme and I from our nap. We were snuggly together in my bed and it was very dark, she woke up saying "Mommy, I can't like Underwear" It was so funny she was talking about the thunder. So we had underwear storms at our house! Oh and the can't like, she says she can't want to do something or can't like it! I love it.
Her new word this week is "kind of" She kinda has to potty or she kinda can't like that. I do love how she talks.
I am looking for ideas of things we can go and do. If you have any ideas, send them our way.

Bedtime Nightmares

OMG, Emme is having the hardest time going to bed. She was sleeping perfectly in her own bed all night long until like 9 am. That was heaven for me...but that can't last forever. For the last couple of months she gets up around 7 or 7:30. That is fine too. Now she won't go to sleep. She is now only sleeping in our bed and we have to lay with her until she is out. The worst thing about that is that isn that I wake up with bruises on my ribs. Seriously, bad bruises.
What do i do?? I am longing for a good nights sleep, but I don't see it happening any time soon.
What I really want to do.... and for those of you reading without kiddos, you can already do this and you won't realize what a huge deal it is. Anyhow, I want to go and stay in a hotel all by myself. No kids, no husband, no dog, no phone, no to do list, no cleaning, no laundry, no breakfast, lunch, or dinner to make, no sippys to find, and no babies to put to bed. Just one night is all I am asking for. Oooo, you know, come to think of it, Mother's Day is coming up. I could do that. Oh wait, husband is working that day, so I will be on full blown duty that day too.
Well, one of these days I will work it into my schedule, so until then, I will keep doing what I do. I really do love my job as a Mommy and would not trade it for the world. It is the most fun and I am my own boss. I guess one good thing about E insisting I go to bed with her, is my day is over at 8 pm too.
It is bedtime!!!

February - April

After I went thru all my pics from February to April, I was reminded of what we have been doing. You can get the fast version..
E modeling her sunglasses. She was looking at herself in the webcam!
Here is our one day ice day. She was bundled up nice and warm with her jammies underneath.

Daddy brought her home a princess scooter. She loves it and really gets upset if someon else tries to ride it!

This is at my moms, she did not want to go to sleep in the room by herself, so she made a pallet at the end of the hall and went to sleep.

In February, she had a very special delivery at the door on Valentines Day from her doting Daddy!

She really thinks she is fancy. My mom keeps special very red lipstick in her make-up drawer especially for Emme. She goes just about every 5 minutes to freshen up her color while we are there.
Precious little mama.
Cheering on Daddy at his one and olny softball game of the year. He hit a homerun and was having a great game, until he had something pop in his calf and he went down. He was off his leg for a couple of weeks and only recently stopped wearing the brace.
In march, David was a groomsman in his long time pals JT's wedding. It was nice, it was at the Gaylord, so that was fun going there.
David and his very best friend BJ.

Emme eating a strawberry we grew in our fruit and veggie garden in the backyard. That does keep uus occupied too.
The fruits of our labor. The very first strawberry of the season.
Me and Holly, my sister, at the Womens retreat.
E modeling her earring and barrets she got in her Easter basket. She really thougbht she was fancarella.
Emme dodging the camera in her Easter dress at Mimi's house.
My little precious modeling her diaperless swimsuit. They fit much better when there is no big a dn bulky diaper underneath.

Well, that sums up our last couple of months, now I just have to keep up with it.

You thought we were gone for good, but here we are.
Where have the months gone?
February I can't remember, March, I don't know, and now ending April and I can remember some...
At the begining of April Emme said goodbye to diapers and hello big girl panties. I figured out I love to buy little tiny panties. Here is a pic of Emme putting her diapers in the trash. "No more diapers". Hmmm, I hear someone walking around the hallway and Emme is supposed to be in her room taking a nap with the gate up....oh wait, she has scaled the gate and is galavanting around the house! Now I have to act surprised and upset she is out of her room.Let's see, then I packed up and went on a womens retreat with church at Pine Cove. It was awesome. I was with just a bunch of women, no husbands, no kiddos, no house to keep up, and no where to be. It was spriritually uplifting and refreshing. Can't wait for next year.
Then a couple of days later we set off for San Antonio to explore Sea World. Emme was excited about seeing "Shampoo" She had a fabulous time and was completely worn out. I will post pictures later. While in San Antonio, we also took a boat ride through The River Walk and visited the ol Alamo.
Now we are just playing catch up with our lives.
May is looking to be a very busy month for us.
David's landscape business has taken off so well, I can't even catch up or know what to do next. He has skyrocketed with business. The economy may show people having a financially hard time, but that is surely not the case. People are definately still paying for new flowerbeds, mowing, and clean-up. I love it of course!
I will post more later with pics.

Oh Where, Oh Where Have I Been?

Just a quick catch you up...
We have been so busy since Xmas, as soon as Christmas is over we undecorate and get ready for the Birthdays. And this year David and I had a lot to undecorate since it was his first year to put up Christmas lights for his side business he has started.
So New Years Eve aka my Birthday came, the day started off slowly. David and Emme took me for breakfast and then we went back home played around for a little while and David left to take care of some errands and I put E down for a nap....still no presents. If you know me, you know I am all about the gifts. I am that shallow and I admit it, but I like to buy for others just as much. Anyways, it was getting late and I knew he had stuff plannned for the evening, so we got ready and he said before we were leaving I had to have my eyes covered. (too fun, I love surprises!) He covered my eyes with a big ski sock...yes it was clean. We got into the car and he took some turns and U turns to trick me, then we get out of the car and he won't tell me where we are, he just leads me. Then I hear a cow MOO, so I knew we were at my sister, Holly's house. When I walked i n the house, he took my blind fold off and everyone said Surprise!! He had invited my newly made friends and all of my family. He had appetizers and a cute cake he ordered himself with pink decor. I loved it. And...I got presents!
After my bash, he whisked me away to dinner with Holly, Doc, and Dan. We had a great time at dinner. The food was good and we could not stop laughing. Oh yeah, he arranged for my parents to keep the kids for the night. So, after dinner he had movie tickets, but I knew he was exhausted, so we skipped the movie and headed for our hotel he arranged for us. We checked in and he was out for the night by 9:45pm. I toasted the new year with Dick Clark and turned out the lights. We are not partiers, but that is just fine by me. I had a great time and the fact that he put time and efffort into me and my 30th is what makes me so incredibly happy. I love you, Dave.
So, 17 days after my Birthday is David's Birthday...his brother and I planned a brunch for his party. We had a egg and sausage casserole and waffles and topped it all off with a cookie cake! He said it was probably his best B-day yet. He is very easy to please, but I always like to give him a party. After the party, we dropped the kids off to the babysitter and were all off to see Paul Blart Mall Cop. It was such a funny movie! Then we headed to The Magnolia Hotel for drinks and then got ready for dinner. We went over to The Iron Cactus right beside our hotel and discovered our new favorite Mexican Restaraunt. Yummy! Then we retreated to our hotel room for some relaxation. I think he really enjoys being treated like a king since he works so hard for me and E.
Since then, we have had a quiet week...thank goodness. Now David is getting ready for his annual Firefighter Ski trip with his station buddies!

David blowing out his candles at his B-day party!
Uncle Dan and Precious Emme posing at Daddy's party.
I could not beleive that E sat there and said "Cheese Mommy". I actually got a posed pic out of her with a very good smile.
Aunt Holly and Emme at New Years Day lunch.
Not a very good pic, but Dan and Dave. Twins 13 months apart and 100 Lbs difference!

My very special cake designed for me!!!! Gotta love grocery store cakes!
Okay, I am going to try to keep up with my blog now. There are already so many funny things that have happpened or that Emme has said that I did not get in here, and now I can't remember any! That makes me so sad.
See you soon.

Cute Things Emme Says

I asked Emme what HoHo (Santa) says, and she said "Gobble Gobble". Too cute. I of course did not correct her, because that is too precious.

Instead of Emme saying Oh Man, she says "Oh Mam"

Emme always answers me "Yes Maam" I am so proud of how sweet she is.....sometimes!

I love to document all the cute things little E says and does, so I can remember forever.
