Oh Where, Oh Where Have I Been?

Just a quick catch you up...
We have been so busy since Xmas, as soon as Christmas is over we undecorate and get ready for the Birthdays. And this year David and I had a lot to undecorate since it was his first year to put up Christmas lights for his side business he has started.
So New Years Eve aka my Birthday came, the day started off slowly. David and Emme took me for breakfast and then we went back home played around for a little while and David left to take care of some errands and I put E down for a nap....still no presents. If you know me, you know I am all about the gifts. I am that shallow and I admit it, but I like to buy for others just as much. Anyways, it was getting late and I knew he had stuff plannned for the evening, so we got ready and he said before we were leaving I had to have my eyes covered. (too fun, I love surprises!) He covered my eyes with a big ski sock...yes it was clean. We got into the car and he took some turns and U turns to trick me, then we get out of the car and he won't tell me where we are, he just leads me. Then I hear a cow MOO, so I knew we were at my sister, Holly's house. When I walked i n the house, he took my blind fold off and everyone said Surprise!! He had invited my newly made friends and all of my family. He had appetizers and a cute cake he ordered himself with pink decor. I loved it. And...I got presents!
After my bash, he whisked me away to dinner with Holly, Doc, and Dan. We had a great time at dinner. The food was good and we could not stop laughing. Oh yeah, he arranged for my parents to keep the kids for the night. So, after dinner he had movie tickets, but I knew he was exhausted, so we skipped the movie and headed for our hotel he arranged for us. We checked in and he was out for the night by 9:45pm. I toasted the new year with Dick Clark and turned out the lights. We are not partiers, but that is just fine by me. I had a great time and the fact that he put time and efffort into me and my 30th is what makes me so incredibly happy. I love you, Dave.
So, 17 days after my Birthday is David's Birthday...his brother and I planned a brunch for his party. We had a egg and sausage casserole and waffles and topped it all off with a cookie cake! He said it was probably his best B-day yet. He is very easy to please, but I always like to give him a party. After the party, we dropped the kids off to the babysitter and were all off to see Paul Blart Mall Cop. It was such a funny movie! Then we headed to The Magnolia Hotel for drinks and then got ready for dinner. We went over to The Iron Cactus right beside our hotel and discovered our new favorite Mexican Restaraunt. Yummy! Then we retreated to our hotel room for some relaxation. I think he really enjoys being treated like a king since he works so hard for me and E.
Since then, we have had a quiet week...thank goodness. Now David is getting ready for his annual Firefighter Ski trip with his station buddies!

David blowing out his candles at his B-day party!
Uncle Dan and Precious Emme posing at Daddy's party.
I could not beleive that E sat there and said "Cheese Mommy". I actually got a posed pic out of her with a very good smile.
Aunt Holly and Emme at New Years Day lunch.
Not a very good pic, but Dan and Dave. Twins 13 months apart and 100 Lbs difference!

My very special cake designed for me!!!! Gotta love grocery store cakes!
Okay, I am going to try to keep up with my blog now. There are already so many funny things that have happpened or that Emme has said that I did not get in here, and now I can't remember any! That makes me so sad.
See you soon.

Cute Things Emme Says

I asked Emme what HoHo (Santa) says, and she said "Gobble Gobble". Too cute. I of course did not correct her, because that is too precious.

Instead of Emme saying Oh Man, she says "Oh Mam"

Emme always answers me "Yes Maam" I am so proud of how sweet she is.....sometimes!

I love to document all the cute things little E says and does, so I can remember forever.

The Perfect Tree

I am wondering what the heck I am doing up at this time....it is 3:30 am and I cannot sleep. Ugh! I was so exhausted from the last couple of days. Emme has been sick with diarrhea. Thank goodness she is still in diapers, cause I don't think I could have handled it in big girl panties! Anyways, we are praying tomorrow is a better day.
Lets see, we have been doing lots of Chrsitmas shopping lately and today, we went to my precious niece Molly's 1 Birthday party. I cannot beleive she is 1. She is like 2 feet and half and she waddles all around. It is so funny to watch her walk because her legs are so short and bow-legged. Too cute. I will post pics of her when I get my camera out of the car.
We recently had our annual Christmas Tree decorating party. We had plans to go to a tree farm and cut down our own while enjoying the festivities of the season, but it gets dark so early now we did not make it. We went up the street to a tree lot, and let me tell you that is a rip. The guy wanted to charge us $100 plus tax for a 6ft tree. I said no way and we headed to Home Depot and got a 7ft for $35. That's more like it. Anyways, Emme had a great time running around the trees playing keep away and hiding.
Just a cute thing E is doing now, is, whenever someone sneezes she tells them Bless You. It is so precious. I just love her talking. She is talking in such complete sentences now and she is actually making sense. Come January we will attempt the dreaded potty training!
Daddy and Emme decorating the tree. All the ornaments E "set" on the tree just tumble right off!
Emme enjoying her first cup f Hot Chocolate! She always tells me "chocolate mommy" That means she wants some more.
I think she found the perfect tree!

Daddy and his girl! He adores her. I always tease David because she has him wrapped around her finger so tight. He will do anything and everything for her. Some people thought I was spoiled by hime, you haven't seen nothing yet!

Well, I will try to turn off the lights and the computer now and close my eyes. Hopefully, I won't be sucked back into Facebook before I turn off the computer. It is so addicting! Oh yeah, if Emme is doing better in the moring, we are taking her to see Ho Ho! I will post pics soon.
Good Night!

"The Kid Table"

Thanksgiving 2008

Stuffed Hubby

My precious baby girl

Thanksgiving was great! We were up at 8:30am, Emme and I got the turkey in the oven and the stuffing prepared. Then Mimi and Pops arrived...Emme was so excited to see Mimi she jumped up and down and screeched! Too cute. I love it when she recognizes and gets excited about seeing Mimi and Pops.

It was so fun having all the family here (except Bridget's family), and all the food turned out perfect (except the pies). The lunch was fabulous, but my pies were a mess. I made a cheesecake that became the joke of the day. It was all bumpy, and zit like! My buttermilk pie was like water. I think I am in need of a new buttermilk pie recipe. The last couple of times I have made it according to the directions it is pretty watery in the middle. At least everyone else brought a pie!

It was also a very special day because David's brother, Daniel, was with us for his first time. He has not exactly been around too much in the last 10 years. I think he enjoyed himself and the family.
After lunch, we all retired to the living room and I retired to the bedroom. I got a well deserved nap. It was marvelous. Then we all got up and went for round two.
I am so thankful for my wonderful and very close family. There is nothing better than my sisters and my growing relationship with my mother.
Happy T-day!

Ready for T-Day

I am so ready for Tday. It is going to be great. I am hosting this year, with a slightly smaller group than usual. My Mom and Dad are coming in on Thursday morning and then just my sister, Holly's family, J.D, my little Bro, and my bro-in-law, Dan. The house is clean, the tables are decorated, and the turkey is still thawing (oops), hopefully it will be ready for the oven in the morning!
It was so fun making a kids table. We pulled Emme's table from her playroom into the dining room. Emme and I got Fall fabric for the table cloth and Emme decorated placemats for her very best friends and cousins, Heidi and Hannah. The girls even get a candle on their table.
I have to confess...I snuck a piece of cheesecake already!!! It looked way funny, so I decided I should test it to make sure it was not poisonous! Hahaha!
Something else exciting going on is, my brother has been out with a girl twice in one day and is still with her. If you don't know, this is a big deal as his heart was broken a year ago when his Fiance cheated on him! Ugh! It hurt him bad as you can imagine. Plus he is a sensative guy, as you can expect growing up in a house with all girls. Anyways, he has recently, as in this week, kicked his ex to the curb and told her he no longer wants contact with her. This is big because he still had hope and she has been dating etc. but still calling him and texting with him daily. So Monday, we celebrated his independence. We are praying he does not resort back to talking to her again as we know he finds comfort and routine with her since they were together since high school. Keep praying he stays interested in other girls. The girl he is with tonight may not be girlfriend material, but at least he can keep his time filled. (not saying this girl isn't good, I actually think she is good, but maybe not together!)
David, my hubby, has had 2 huge fires today! I just talked to him and he is exhausted and his hands are killing him. It is so scary to see your hubby on the news at a huge explosive fire, but when he calls it is such relief. Hopefully he is able to get some rest tonight so he can help out in the morning with food prep and Emme!
Lunch is at 12 and then he can veg infront of football. I will skip the football and dig into the Christmas decor. Yeah, it can finally go up!
Happy Thanksgiving to all...be thankful for everything and everyone you have, there are some people out there that are not as luck as you. Count your blessings!

"Booga Mommy"

Today I went to get E out of her bed after her nap...she was in her shades in her window. We were talking and she gets up stands back in her window and points to a green smear on the window seal and says "Booga Mommy". She had wiped boogers in her window. Too funny!! Gotta love everything they do, even if it is having a booger collection!!! (MKA, If you read this, this blog is dedicated to you!!!!!)
